Life Update

one foot on the rail
Taking two classes this semester: Intro to Information Technology, which I suspect will be one of those classes where I have to pay attention or I'll miss something in the text I don't already know; and Microcomputer Hardware and Software Concepts, which has the potential to be a fun experience - we spent the second night of class taking a computer apart and putting it back together again. This week we loaded Windows XP onto a machine, which consisted mostly of waiting...

Hubby is working part-time now as a rural route carrier for the US post office, which is great work, if you can get it...he got to substitute for a full-timer for two days last week, that wore him out. His mom's condition is worrying him, but he's also worried about his dad, who is not a patient man, and this waiting for Ms. C to get better is not in his realm of experience.

Both my girls are doing all right. They have birthdays in the next few weeks, and I have no party plans, no gift ideas, cannot concentrate long enough on the fact that my baby will be 5 and my oldest daughter will be 18 sooner than I can blink.

Work is insanely busy, I'm late on about three projects, with the potential to be late on two more if I can't get them done in the next week or two. And I desperately need a vacation. I will be attending a system-wide conference from the 21-23, and hoping that the sessions I've picked out to attend will be helpful to me, and that I will know enough about the programs/software we use to keep up with what they're trying to teach me. Then in October, I'm representing staff at a conference in the continuing education building where I used to work in Athens!! I'm really excited about that one, even though it means leaving my family for another overnight within a month of the last one...
